Try Krisp →Is Krisp safe: the security claims in Krisp's words
These are Krisp's statements, shown as Krisp words them. Its pricing FAQ says all data is encrypted at rest using AES-256 and in transit using TLS 1.3, and that Krisp is certified for SOC 2 Type II, GDPR and HIPAA and adheres to PCI-DSS standards.
| Question | What Krisp's pages say | Plan |
|---|---|---|
| Encryption | AES-256 at rest and TLS 1.3 in transit | Stated for all data |
| Certifications | SOC 2 Type II and GDPR ticked on every plan | Core, Advanced and Enterprise |
| Recording storage | Kept in Krisp's cloud until you delete them | Not tied to a plan |
| Data location | Mainly the United States; data center location choice | Enterprise for the choice |
Krisp's comparison table also shows HIPAA compliance and SOC2 report access on Enterprise only, so ask Krisp which plan covers HIPAA.
Where Krisp stores recordings and transcripts
Krisp stores recordings in its cloud. Its help center says recordings are kept in the cloud, and its privacy policy says Krisp stores recordings and meeting notes until you tell it to delete them. Meetings are transcribed in the cloud, and Krisp says the data used for transcription is deleted right after processing.
Krisp's security page says the AI Meeting Assistant stores more data in Krisp Cloud than the company's other products. Deleted meetings stay in Trash for 30 days, and a team Admin can set auto-delete so that team members' meetings are removed for good when the period ends.
Model training, outside providers and privacy settings
Krisp's pricing FAQ says your meeting data is never used to train its AI models, while its privacy policy lists model improvement as a purpose based on consent, so read the policy before you rely on either.
Krisp's privacy policy also says it may share meeting content with third-party service providers. Its Terms put the duty to give notice and obtain consent from meeting guests on you, the customer, and its help center describes a setting named Notify others you're using Krisp under Settings, Privacy & Consent. Tell every participant that notes are being taken.
Krisp says its AI Meeting Assistant asks for a Google or Outlook calendar connection at signup by default, and it describes a way to connect with zero calendar permissions.
When another note taker fits a stricter privacy rule
Granola's pricing page says audio is deleted after transcription and that Granola trains on anonymized data, with an opt-out listed on its Basic plan. Microsoft says a Teams recording goes to the organizer's OneDrive for private meetings or SharePoint for channel meetings, which keeps it in Microsoft's storage.
A 7-day trial with no card lets you read Krisp's Privacy & Consent settings in the app before you pay. The Krisp AI meeting assistant review covers plans and the bot, AI note taker privacy concerns compares storage across tools, and Krisp free trial explains day 8.
