Quick answerBoth take meeting notes for Zoom, Teams and Meet and can record without a bot. Krisp bundles noise cancellation and lists a 7-day trial. Krisp is likely to fit when

✓ Managers of 3 to 20 person teams on Zoom, Teams or Meet who want notes without a bot in client calls

✓ Teams that want noise cancellation and meeting notes in one app

✓ People who attend in-person or hybrid meetings and want desktop and mobile notes

✓ Buyers who want to compare yearly cost per seat before they commit

Important limitations

— Teams that want a free plan beyond a short trial

— Teams that rely on one platform and find its built-in notes enough

— Anyone who needs a bot to attend meetings for them by default

— Anyone who only needs noise removal on calls

Krisp vs Otter AI: the main difference

Both tools turn meetings into transcripts, summaries and action items for Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Google Meet. The main difference is how each started and what surrounds the notes. Krisp is a voice AI company whose app also cancels noise and converts accents, and its note taker captures audio on your computer. Otter describes itself as a meeting agent, sends a notetaker to meetings automatically, and also offers desktop and Chrome capture without a bot.

So bot-free notes are not a Krisp-only feature. Otter's home page says you can record bot-free on a Mac or Windows desktop or in Chrome. The real choice is whether you want audio tools in the same app and how each vendor limits team size, meeting length and plans.

Compare capture: bots, desktop apps and calling apps

  • Krisp: the note taker runs in the desktop app with Krisp Microphone and Krisp Speaker selected in the calling app. Krisp's pricing page also lists a record-with-bot option.
  • Otter: its pricing page says it joins Zoom, MS Teams and Google Meet to write and share notes, and its home page lists the bot-free desktop and Chrome routes.
  • Platforms: Krisp lists Zoom, Teams, Meet and Slack Huddles by name and says any app with virtual device support works. Otter's pricing page names Zoom, Teams and Meet.
  • Mobile: both list iOS and Android apps. Krisp's mobile app records in-person or offline conversations.
  • Extras: noise cancellation and accent conversion are Krisp features. Otter's plan lists focus on notes, AI Chat, workflows and integrations.

Plan and cost structure to compare at five seats

Both vendors bill per user per month, and their pricing pages, read on October 29, 2026, show a monthly and an annual setting. Amounts differ by setting, so this guide leaves them out. Compare the structure first. Krisp lists a 7-day trial, then Core, Advanced and Enterprise. Otter lists Basic, Pro, Business and Enterprise, and Basic is free.

Otter's comparison table lists a workspace limit of 5 members on Basic, 5 billed users on Pro and 25 billed users on Business, with unlimited on Enterprise. A five-person team therefore fits Pro, while a team of eight needs Business. Krisp's comparison table lists unlimited members on every plan. Use the Krisp pricing worksheet for the yearly arithmetic and run the same four lines for Otter: per-user figure times seats times twelve months, in both billing settings.

Notes limits, languages and team features

  • Meeting length: Otter's comparison table lists 30 minutes per conversation on Basic, 90 minutes on Pro and 4 hours on Business and Enterprise. Krisp's plan tiles list no per-meeting cap.
  • Monthly minutes: Otter lists 300 transcription minutes per user on Basic and 1,200 on Pro, unlimited on Business. Krisp lists unlimited transcription on its plans.
  • Concurrent meetings: Otter lists 1 on Basic, 2 on Pro and 3 on Business.
  • Languages: Otter lists English, Spanish, French, German, Japanese and Chinese. Krisp's help article lists 16 languages.
  • Storage: Krisp lists 10 GB on Core and 60 GB on Advanced. Otter lists unlimited storage on Pro.
  • Admin: Krisp Advanced lists a manager view and note-taking mode enforcement. Otter Business lists activity logs and usage analytics.

Which to choose: fit by workflow

  • Choose Krisp if you want noise cancellation and notes in one app, in-person notes on the same plan or a plan with no member cap.
  • Choose Otter if you want a free plan to start or a notetaker that joins your scheduled Zoom, Teams and Meet calls on its own.
  • Choose neither yet if one platform covers all your meetings. The team shortlist lists the built-in notes in Zoom, Meet and Teams, plus Fireflies, Fathom and Read AI.
  • Test both on the same meeting. Both vendors describe a way to start without paying, so run one real weekly meeting through each and compare the action items.

Questions to ask both vendors before you pay

  • How do invited guests see a bot or a notice, and can we turn the notice on for everyone?
  • Where are recordings stored, who can see them and how do we delete them?
  • What happens to my bill when the team grows past a plan's member limit?
  • Which of our calling apps and languages work on the plan we would buy?
