Krisp AI meeting assistant review: what it is and what it does
Krisp is a voice AI company with three product lines. This review covers the AI Meeting Assistant, which Krisp's help center describes as a bot-free AI note taker for professionals and teams. It runs as an app on a Windows or Mac computer, and Krisp's home page says it works at the audio level, so it can sit under Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Google Meet, Slack Huddles and other calling apps. You pick Krisp Microphone and Krisp Speaker in the calling app, switch on the note taker in the Krisp app and choose a mode: transcript only, audio recording or screen recording.
Afterward Krisp lists a transcript with speaker identification and timestamps, a summary, action items and an AI Chat for follow-up questions about the meeting. Noise cancellation and accent conversion live in the same app, and the pricing page says noise cancellation is built into every plan. This site cares about the note taking side. What is Krisp AI? explains the whole product family.
Strengths: what Krisp's own pages list
- No bot in the call: the note taker captures audio on your computer, and Krisp's pages describe this as bot-free. Krisp also lists a record-with-bot option for meetings you cannot attend yourself.
- Calling apps: Krisp says an app works with it when the app lets you choose a virtual microphone and speaker, which covers Zoom, Teams, Meet and Slack Huddles.
- In-person and offline notes: the pricing page lists in-person meeting notes on Core, and the home page says the mobile app records and transcribes in-person conversations and works offline.
- Team controls by plan: Core lists team and billing management. Advanced adds admin controls such as note-taking mode enforcement and a manager view. Enterprise adds SSO and SCIM.
- Integrations: the pricing page lists Slack, Notion, Zapier, HubSpot and Pipedrive, with Salesforce and ConnectWise on Advanced.
- Security statements: Krisp states AES-256 encryption at rest, TLS 1.3 in transit, SOC 2 Type II and GDPR compliance, and that meeting data is never used to train its AI models. These are Krisp's own statements, so ask for the documents your company needs.
Limits and risks to weigh before a team rollout
- Calendar access: sign-up asks for a Google or Outlook calendar connection by default. Krisp's FAQ says a route with zero calendar permissions exists for teams that prefer it.
- Both audio devices matter: Krisp's help article says to select both Krisp Microphone and Krisp Speaker in the calling app, otherwise the transcript can miss part of the meeting.
- Telling people is your job: Krisp has a Privacy and Consent setting named Notify others you're using Krisp, and its help article adds that some platforms block chat messages or audio prompts. The how-to guide covers announcing a recording.
- Language counts differ: the help article lists 16 transcription languages, while the product page says 17. Check your language on the live page.
- Bot-free is not unique: Otter, Fireflies and Fathom each describe a bot-free capture route too, so notes quality and price decide more than the label.
- Quality depends on the room: Krisp's FAQ says transcript quality depends mostly on the speaker's clarity and microphone.
Plans and cost terms to read before you start
Krisp's pricing page, read on October 29, 2026, lists a 7-day free trial with no credit card required, then Core, Advanced and Enterprise. Core and Advanced are billed per user with a monthly and an annual setting, and Enterprise is quoted by sales. Krisp's help article says the AI note taker is available on Core and Advanced. Core lists 10 GB of storage and Advanced lists 60 GB, with extra storage as an add-on. Krisp counts any teammate you add to a team as a seat, so decide who needs one before you invite everyone.
Amounts are left out on purpose because they change with the billing setting and the visitor's region. Krisp pricing shows how to turn the per-seat figure on the live US page into a yearly cost for five seats.
Who Krisp fits, and who should pick something else
- Krisp fits a manager of a 3 to 20 person team on Zoom, Teams or Meet who wants notes without a bot in client calls and also wants cleaner audio in the same app.
- Krisp fits people who attend in-person or hybrid meetings and want one tool for desktop and mobile notes.
- Pick another tool if you want a free plan beyond a 7-day trial. Krisp vs Otter AI sets Krisp beside a rival that lists a free plan.
- Check storage first if your company needs recordings to stay inside Microsoft 365 or Google storage. Krisp lists its own storage by plan and a choice of data center location on Enterprise, so ask where recordings live.
- Pick the built-in notes in your calling app if one platform covers every meeting. The team shortlist lists those options beside Krisp.
